Well, we decided quite last minute to run off for a night of camping in the mountains nearby. We ended up in San Isabel, about an hour southwest of here. The leaves were starting to change, it was absolutely beautiful. On the way home we stopped and walked around the lake and toured Bishop's Castle. It was really nice to just get away for a little while, if even for a night. Here are some shots from the trip. It was a little cold at night, thankfully we got a little one room cabin with a loft (beds only, no kitchen or potty). I like the picture at the end where Lizzy is just crashed out once we got home (she has something smeared on her lips, I think it was her fruit snacks she was sucking on ;D).

One room down... so many to go

Well, I finished up the girls room today. A great big thanks to Dad who switched out the light for a fan, Kristin for her consultation, Joe with his chair rail and blind hanging talent and neosporin for my battered fingers from all the caulking ;D. The girls got to pick their colors and we came out with a beautiful room (it used the be white with dark purple baseboards). At some point I will get the curtains sown and a few more things on the wall but here it is in all its spendor. The girls love it...

3 Months old already!

Can you believe how fast time is going by? Jackson is already 3 months old and as cute as can be. He has started to grab for things that are front of him and smiles and talks all the time.


The girls and I are also trying to get their room all finished too, we have painted and now just need to get the chair rail and pictures up. I'll post a shot once it is done (it will be the first room in the house that is all done :)). On our last trip to Lowes they were making pirate ships. Once we got home they just had to paint too.

Plane Crash

Not sure if any of you have seen it on the news but there was a plane crash. It was an instructor and a student that were up. It looks like they will both make it. Boy did it make me grateful that my husband came home safe last night. He was up flying with a student when it happened as was Cody and the other guys. Our prayers go out to the instructor who is in the hospital right now.

Sparkle Girls

Well the girls talked us into it. This afternoon we went and got their ears pierced. They were both so excited too. As Emily sat on the chair waiting to go she was holding her cheeks. When I asked her why she said "to keep them from smiling, I just can't stop smiling", it was too cute. She was also amazingly brave. After her first ear was done she wanted to cry but held it in so her sister wouldn't get scared. What an amazing girl I tell you. Lizzy on the other hand cried at the end but by this evening it was all but forgotten and they are both so excited to sleep with earrings in.

Sunday Evening

It seems to me that it gets harder and harder to keep up on my blog. We have had so much fun going on. The family has all left now and we miss everyone terribly, come back! Saturday we had the opportunity to go to Denver though and visit with family there. The girls were able to attend their cousin Maddie's birthday at the Butterfly Pavilion and had an amazing time. Thanks Maddie, Happy Birthday girl! Then we spent the afternoon at Pam and George's for a grill out (just for you Stac ;)). They live in a beautiful house in Evergreen and every moment you spend there you feel like you are a vacation in a log cabin. It is so nice to have them somewhat close by. Our dream is to someday live even closer to family!

Well we are back in the swing of things now at home and getting ready to start the new week. Jackson, the cute little guy, has started talking up a storm and I couldn't help but to catch a little on our camera. Please disregard the silly lady in the background talking. Love to everyone!
